The Sound of Music cancelled due to coronavirus

“When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so bad!”

We know that we have all had to face many disappointments this spring. We regret that due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we will be unable to bring you our production of The Sound of Musicthis production has been cancelled due to coronavirus and social distancing requirements.

We would like to offer you three options for compensation for your Sound of Music tickets:

Convert your tickets into a donation to The Rose Theater.
If you are able, we would welcome the donation of your tickets to help support The Rose and keep #OmahaStrong in this uncertain time. It is through your generosity that we can assure The Rose’s future as an important cultural icon in the Omaha community. We will be happy to send you a tax receipt for this donation.

Receive a credit on your Rose account.
We can also credit your account for the amount of your tickets, to be used for future purchases with The Rose. You may transfer the price of your tickets to be used towards a 2020-21 Rose membership, or for tickets to the 2020 holiday production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella or our exciting 2021 summer musical (which will be announced soon).

Receive a refund for the total price paid for your tickets via mail.If you prefer, we can also process a refund for you, if that is in the best interest of your family. Refunds may take up to 30 days to process.

Whatever option is best for your family, please notify The Rose Box Office at (402) 345-4849 or info@rosetheater.org about your preference by Friday, May 1. Please note that due to limited staff, our response time may be longer than usual.

The stage lights at The Rose may be dimmed right now during this uncertain time of the global pandemic, but we look forward to the day when our seats are again filled with happy families, spending quality time together, roaring with laughter at the madcap adventures unfolding on stage.

But rest assured, this is just an intermission!
The show will go on. Even now, we are busy planning a fun and exciting slate of shows for your family to enjoy in 2020-21. The lights will again shine bright on our stage, and we cannot wait to welcome you back to The Rose.It won’t be long before this crisis has ended and the lights of The Rose again glow as a new production bursts to life onstage. And when it does, we can’t wait to welcome you back to The Rose.

Until that day, we hope your family is safe and well. We will see you again soon!
