Regular Season
Our regular season includes seven shows selected to appeal to a wide range of tastes and ages. While many shows feature well-known storylines and characters, we also offer shows designed to stretch your artistic experience and introduce young people to new forms of theater.
Each regular season show lasts approximately one hour without an intermission. Regular season shows feature open seating, which means guests choose their seats upon arrival.
FIRST STAGE Series
The Rose is proud to offer young theater-goers a unique opportunity to experience the theater arts. Our FIRST STAGE productions are perfect for preschoolers, children with special needs or sensory needs, or others who desire a gentler, more interactive and personal performance.
Our FIRST STAGE productions feature:
- Interactions with performers
- A smaller theater space where kids are part of the action
- Flexible seating in chairs, on the floor, on benches, etc.
- A “shush-free” environment
- Minimal lighting changes or periods of complete black-out
- Few, if any, loud sounds
- A whole lot of imagination and fun!
Presented in the intimate setting of The Rose’s Hitchcock Stage (a smaller theater space located on our 4th floor), FIRST STAGE allows children to become completely absorbed in the theaterical experience. We encourage interaction with the performers and invite your family to tear down the fourth wall and become a part of the performance.
2017-18 FIRST STAGE Shows:
Teens ‘N’ Theater
The Rose’s Teens ‘N’ Theater series features theater for teens, by teens. The Rose produces five teens-only shows each season. Teen participants are given opportunities to act, direct, write, design and stage manage the shows. The result is a stunning season of exceptionally fresh, thought-provoking and genuine work.
Teens ‘N’ Theater shows are presented live on The Rose’s Hitchcock Stage. Tickets are $6 and are not available online. Please call The Rose Box Office to purchase tickets.
