The Rose To Host Auditions for 2016 “I Dream…” Outreach Projects

The Rose Theater will host auditions for its 2016 “I Dream…” Outreach Projects on Tuesday, May 24, 6-9 pm, with callbacks Wednesday, May 25, 6-8 pm. Auditions are by appointment only. Auditions will be held at The Rose Theater, 2001 Farnam Street, Omaha.

The Rose’s “I Dream…” projects will include two productions during the 2016-17 season. The first will deal with the complications and struggles of teen pregnancy, and will be performed Sept. 23-25 at The Rose, with tours of the show being performed throughout the Omaha area Sept. 26 – Oct. 14. The second “I Dream” show will address youth incarceration. This production will be performed Nov. 11 – 20 at The Rose. Both shows are being developed and written by award-winning writer, actor and singer, Daniel Beaty.

Adult actors in their early to mid 20s are welcome to audition. African American, Caucasian and Latino men and women are needed. Performers should prepare two two-minute contrasting monologues. Callbacks will require actors to prepare a short song sung a cappella. Please bring a headshot and resume to the audition.

Rehearsals for the teen pregnancy project will be Aug. 15 – Sept. 22. Rehearsals for the youth incarceration project will be Oct. 15 – Nov. 10.

This is a paid acting position.
