Raise the curtain on your child’s talent.

No matter what your child’s interests, your young performer can find their place in the spotlight with outstanding classes and camps designed to encourage a love of performing.

Whether your child is taking their first steps on the stage or has already landed a leading role, the performing arts classes at The Rose will provide your child with theatrical opportunities unlike any other, all while having a lot of fun!

When your student enrolls in a class at The Rose, you can be assured that your child will learn from some of the best educators in the region. Rose teachers include professional actors, accomplished dancers, award-winning playwrights, highly-decorated directors, renowned choreographers and more.

Rose classes encourage creativity and imagination while enriching the understanding and enjoyment of theater. Many classes offer performance opportunities, and all classes promote ensemble work and skill development.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Alice plunges down the rabbit hole and becomes involved in that madcap and deliciously satiric series of adventures immortalized by Lewis Carroll. A kaleidoscope of action and madness, with the necessary elements of suspense and frustration to make it all work. The journey of Alice through the looking glass to the land of bizarre characters and strange “pretzel-logic” is retold in this ingenious adaptation with a great sense of farce and a loving touch of humanity.

Performing Arts Conservatory: The Giant Who Chased the Moon and Other Balinese Tales

Conservatory is a multi-disciplinary series of rehearsals, performances, workshops, and discussions taught by the entire DRAMA at The Rose professional staff. It is for committed, intermediate-to-advanced students only and covers the topics of actor training, stage combat, improvisation, movement for actors, vocal diction and projection, playwriting, directing, scenography (sets, lights, costumes, sound, and make-up), dancing, and singing. This year, Conservatory will be exploring Eastern Theater techniques from Japan, Indonesia, and India. They will be performing in the world premiere adaptation of three Balinese folktales developed specifically for the conservatory performance ensemble, in which they will be utilizing shadow puppets, performing traditional dance as well as creating the musical landscape of our stories. Scripts included in the production were written by local teen playwright Paige Wolfe and two Rose teaching artists, Kendra Ball and Stephanie Jacobson.

Join the mysterious Robin Hood and the band of Merry Outlaws as they use their wits to trick the evil Sheriff of Nottingham, his greedy daughter and the selfish Prince John. In this class, students will learn how an actor prepares for a role onstage as the class auditions, rehearses, develops characters and memorizes a short 20 minute excerpt from The Many Disguises of Robin Hood by Brian Guehring

Welcome to Whose Line Is It Anyway? “Where everything is made up and the points don’t matter.” Join us for a round of Drop a Line, World’s Worst, Taxi, and much more. These fun improv skill-building activities will improve your ability to give and take focus, make bold choices with your body and voice, and build on other students’ ideas. You will have the opportunity to show off your performance skills during a class sharing for family and friends on the last day of class.
