Classes & Camps

Raise the curtain on your child’s talent.

No matter what your child’s interests, your young performer can find their place in the spotlight with outstanding classes and camps designed to encourage a love of performing.

Whether your child is taking their first steps on the stage or has already landed a leading role, the performing arts classes at The Rose will provide your child with theatrical opportunities unlike any other, all while having a lot of fun!

When your student enrolls in a class at The Rose, you can be assured that your child will learn from some of the best educators in the region. Rose teachers include professional actors, accomplished dancers, award-winning playwrights, highly-decorated directors, renowned choreographers and more. Rose classes encourage creativity and imagination while enriching the understanding and enjoyment of theater. Many classes offer performance opportunities, and all classes promote ensemble work and skill development.

All the Rose camps you love – right from your home!

Virtually Awesome Summer

In light of social distancing, The Rose’s summer camps will go digital for the first few weeks, May 26 – June 19. We have converted these early camps to an online platform that brings all the fun and creativity of a Rose camp right to your home!

What does an online camp entail?
You will start each day in an online classroom with the rest of your fellow campers — just as you would in-person at The Rose. Together, you will use your body, voice and imagination to explore the themes of your camp. There will be breaks for you to go off-line and try some things on your own — you might do a craft, work on a scene or try out some new choreography. You will come back to the computer to work in your camp group and to get feedback from your camp leader. Every camp will be a little different; specific details on your camp will be sent to you when you register.

While this may not be exactly the way we planned to spend our camp days, we are excited about the opportunities this online format brings, including:

  • unique, one-on-one interactions with campers;
  • individualized instruction to participants;
  • student exploration their in their own space;
  • collaborations with other students from Omaha — and beyond;
  • sharing the camp experience with family members in a whole new way.
    In fact, this is a great opportunity to connect with family members outside of the Omaha area! Encourage your cousin from Connecticut or your niece from New Hampshire to join a camp with your kids here in Omaha and spend the summer together!
  • reduced prices for online camps.

What about the rest of the summer?
As you know, each day brings new information about our situation. We are as eager as you are to return to normal, but the safety of our students is our key concern. The Rose will follow the guidance of local, state and federal health authorities. We will make an announcement about the remainder of the summer no later than June 1, 2020.

I have more questions.
We know you have lots of questions, and we are ready to answer them. You may send questions to classes@rosetheater.org. Please note: due to limited on-site staffing, it may take a little longer than usual to receive a reply. Your questions are important to us and we will respond as soon as we are able.

We are looking forward to this VIRTUALLY AWESOME SUMMER!
We can’t wait to see you online!
